Today we are pleased to announce the arrival of the newly released limited edition “Single Malt Whisky Shizuoka Prologue W” from Gaia Flow Shizuoka Distillery.
Like the previous much-talked-about “Prologue K,” it is limited to 5,000 bottles. This is one of the hottest bottles in the whisky industry.

Gorgeous, full-bodied, and powerful flavor produced by a bulge-type “wood-fired distillation machine

Shizuoka Distillery operates two pot stills for first distillation called “K” and “W”. Prologue W is a “bulge-shaped” pot still with a bulge in the middle, which is also used in the label design, and is probably the only “wood-fired distillation still” in the world, made by Forsyths of Scotland. This time, Prologue W is made from the original spirit distilled in this pot still. The very characteristic of direct-fired distillation is temperature. The temperature of ordinary indirect heat distillation is around 150℃, but the wood-fired distillation at Shizuoka Distillery is 800℃. It is a fragrant and powerful type of malt, with a firm body, light smokiness, and a long, gentle aftertaste.
