Today we are pleased to announce the arrival of limited edition bottles of YAZŪKA World Blended Father and YAZŪKA World Malt BEAUTIFUL from Nagahama Distillery.

Collaboration Whisky by Kazuya Yoshii and Nagahama Distillery

This is a collaboration whisky between Kazuya Yoshii, one of Japan’s leading rock musicians, and Nagahama Distillery.
Kazuya Yoshii’s first encounter with the authentic Scottish single malt whisky was at a bar in Scotland, where he was filming. He was shocked by the taste of Scotch whisky recommended by a local gentleman, and as he became more and more fascinated by Scotch whisky, “I had a strong desire to one day make a whisky that reflects my own life,” he says. Kazuya Yoshii himself was involved in setting the flavor theme, blending, tasting, and even selecting casks to create this premium whisky that reflects his own life. It was released on August 19, the 50th anniversary of his father’s death.

Characteristics

Blended whisky with additional aging in bourbon casks and grain whisky in perfect harmony

A beautiful amber color with a shimmering glow. Gentle on the palate, yet aromatic and gorgeous. Esthetic citrus aroma reminiscent of fresh green apple. Caramel, vanilla and freshly baked orange cake. Bittersweet bitter chocolate after oriental spices derived from oak.
An easy-drinking whisky that gently blends the sweetness derived from bourbon barrels with the clean sweetness of grain whisky.

Features

Characterized by a rich aroma of sherry casks and a smoky aftertaste

Lustrous amber color. Top notes of berries and raisins derived from sherry casks. The aroma is gorgeous, sweet, and gentle, reminiscent of passion fruit and dried fruit. The mouthfeel is very smooth, and the smoky accent derived from peat casks mingles with the richness of the sherry casks, resulting in a more profound taste. The pleasant smokiness continues into the lingering finish, disappearing into the back of the throat with a delicate, velvety flavor.
