1. Akkeshi Single Malt Japanese Whiskey “Boushu”

Today we are pleased to announce the arrival of ” Akkeshi Single Malt Japanese Whiskey Boushu “, a new limited release from Kenten Jitsugyo and Akkeshi Distillery.

Key malt is Mizunara oak barrel peated barley

This is the third edition of the “Nijushisekki (24-week season series)” of the Akkeshi Whisky.
“Boushu” is said to be “the time to sow seeds of grains with glaives such as rice and wheat”, and it is said to be around June 6 every year. In 2021, “Boushu” will be on June 5. In 2021, “Boushu” will be on June 5, and “Boushu” will be on June 21, which is about 16 days before the summer solstice.

・The first single malt whisky, KANRO, will be released on October 28, 2020.
・The second product, Blended Whisky Usui, will be released on February 28, 2021

The main characteristic of the whisky produced at the Akkeshi Distillery is “sweetness”. The whisky is blended with peated malt and other malt from various casks, and is both peaty and sweet, giving it a complex and deep flavor. Please enjoy the “unique peat aroma of Akkeshi,” which is different from the peat of Islay.

Tasting Notes

Flavor Nutty and sweet aroma of milk chocolate, dried fruits, cashew-like, bonfire, peat smoke.
Taste Citrus tartness, sugar syrup-like sweetness
Aftertaste Tide (salty), cocoa butter (bitter), followed by citrus-like sweetness.
