Sasanokawa Brewery, with a history of over 250 years as a sake brewery, obtained a license to produce whisky in 1946 and established the Asaka Distillery in 2016 as a project to commemorate the 250th anniversary of its founding.
Continuing from last year, the company released YAMAZAKURA Single Malt Whisky Asaka 2024 EDITION under the name EDITION.
This YAMAZAKURA Single Malt Whisky Asaka 2024 EDITION is based on Asaka non-piped whisky, and is a blend of several carefully selected whiskies, including peated whisky.
It has a fresh, gorgeous aroma and a clean sweetness that is typical of the Asaka distillery.
The Asaka Distillery has been gaining recognition both in Japan and abroad year after year, with Yamazakura Blended Malt Japanese Whisky Asaka Sherry Wood Reserve winning the world’s highest award in the Blended Malt Whisky category at the World Whisky Awards (WWA) 2022.
At “BAR SHINKAI,” each glass costs 3,960 yen (45ml), 2,640 yen (30ml), and 1,320 yen (15ml).
